About us

What started in December 2023 as an initiative called Ideentriebwerk Vienna quickly grew into something bigger. Driven by the ambition to accelerate startups in growth stage. We hosted our first event in January 2024, bringing together a community that believed in scaling bold ideas.

By the end of 2024, we made the decision to formalize what had already become a thriving ecosystem. Just a few months later, we officially founded the Scaleup Association e.V., headquartered in Vienna, Austria.

The Scaleup Association was founded on a simple belief: Europe doesn’t lack startups, ideas or talent. It lacks scaleups.

Too many founders are stuck between ambition and reality. Growth capital is scarce, barriers are high and support systems too often reward caution over momentum. We exist to change that.

The Scaleup Association is an ecosystem built exclusively for startups that are ready to scale.
